Full Sail

Good morning all, a bit of a mixed bag weatherwise, rain earlier on, now it is cloudy but quite warm. Today's card, it's that long since I took a photo of it I really have to think. Blank topper and stamps-Kanban, coloured with Promarkers, background a touch of Pan Pastels, Spodgeaway mask used for border and framework, anchor and compass Kanban, sentiment from stash, one of my UIU bags!
I have put some more garden photos on too.

Paving and slate gravel finished,a bit of tidying to do I think.
These stones are some of the ones that were dug up, and are going to be used in a little rockery in this corner.
The chimenea looks lost in that corner, will have to get a bigger one for next year. Bird feeder back in place, I hope the birds haven't moved to pastures new. An apple on the floor to encourage the blackbirds.
Paving at the back door, just look at all our garden shoes just dumped there, but we dashed out to move this, help with that, they had a permanent spot near the back door.
This is the barbecue built from some off the bricks that were dug up.
Well that's it for today folks, I am going to make some celery and butter bean soup for lunch, and then it is back to planting bulbs, there are times when I regret buying a box of 200, but I know it will be worth it in spring, if the squirrels don't dig them up first! Take care.

21st card the one she chose.

Good morning all, well this is the card she chose for her daughter's 21st. Card and topper -Kanban, LOTV stamp and sentiment, coloured with Promarkers, embossing folder-Sue Wilson, doyley, jewels, pearls and numerals from stash. That's it! Some more garden pics.

These two are just paving.
The colours show up best when it is wet, so that will be a plus for rainy days!

These next two are of the top raised bed, as you can see the plants look lost, there are a few more now but it still looks empty, it will take a lot to fill this!

Well that's it for today folks, a cloudy cold looking day, but I will wrap up later and venture out to plant some more bulbs. Take care.

21st Card- London theme

Good afternoon everyone, today's card- background some postcard type stamps that I have had for ages. Stamps by Kanban, heat embossed, ribbon and numerals from stash, that's it, that is all I had for London. I have been dashing about like a loon all afternoon, trying to keep myself busy, as my grandson Jake has had an operation to have a skin graft over a hole in his ear drum. Thankfully have just received a text to say he is out of theatre, so I can relax a little now.  I have included some more garden pics on today's post.

Just a tiny island of grass/weeds left in the middle, and yet another pile of housebricks that have been dug up!
Not many sleepers left now.
Weedproof membrane going down, hopefully farewell dock leaves!
Now the hardcore.
Now it is all being compacted. Well that's it for today, take care.

21st card -Fashion Theme 2

Good afternoon everyone, it is a grey one today, very overcast which is what was predicted, but still warm at 16 degrees, so we can't grumble.
Today's card- Card, toppers and stamp -Kanban, coloured with Pro-Marker, embossing folder is Creative Expressions or Sue Wilson, sentiments LOTV, ribbon and Card Candi from stash. I  have shown some more photo's of the garden below.

This is my one decent border, looking a bit bedraggled, due to all the digging of post holes, it looks even more bedraggled now believe me!
More posts and sleepers........

and more! but now you can see the walls on the raised beds starting to emerge.
My weedy grass patch or grassy weed patch is shrinking.
Well that's it for today, hope you are all ok and enjoying some good autumn weather. Take care.

21st card- Fashion Theme 1

Morning all, just! I made this card for someone who asked me to do either fashion, London, baking or something to do with studying! So I made 4 for her to choose from, but didn't go with the studying theme as I had very little to use for that. Card & blank topper from Kanban, background Dawn Bibby stamps, shoe and flowers- Stamps by Chloe, sentiment numerals and jewels from stash.
I have just been to B & Q for some compost then I can plant some of my bulbs, I was hoping to get started as soon as I got back, but it started to rain quite hard, perhaps after lunch! Autumn has come with a vengeance round here, temperature of 11 today but feels like 9,  that's what it says on my weather app anyway! I think all the birds are hiding in their nests to keep dry, I haven't seen any so far today. Well I will go and look round Blogland now. Take care.

Same background

.......different stamp today. Good afternoon everyone.  I think it's all the same info as yesterday as well for this card-paper, sentiment, peel-offs and glitter from stash, Kanban stamp coloured with Promarkers. I am just having some lunch as I type this, home-made celery and butterbean soup, not everyone's choice but we love it! I have posted some more garden pics today as well.

The posts are sunk and cemented into the holes, those are onions growing in a plastic boat that my grandchildren had as a sand pit.
Our last bonfire type burn up to get rid of tree roots, we have had some enormous brilliant bonfires in this garden, oh well!

More posts, with the drainage channels, complete with pea gravel.

Someone is going to have to work hard her. I am still in my observing/project manager role! Well that is it for today, I am going to do a bit more transferring of plants. Take care.

Wednesday, 4 September 2013

Good Afternoon! you all! I am late today as I was interviewing this morning, I have just got back and had my lunch. This card is made using a patchwork type paper that has been in my stash for ages. Stamp-Kanban, coloured with Promarkers, sentiment, glitter and peel offs from stash. I have posted some more garden photos below.

These are the drainage channels, as my soil is very clay-based in parts, particularly near the back door, and so has a tendency to puddle.
This is one of the holes for the support poles for the raised beds.
and a few more, plus some of the soil, clay, bricks  and stones that were dug out to make the channels. I was definitely watching at this stage, no hands on yet!
Well that's it for today, am doing a quick tidy up and then going to play in the garden! Take care.

New Term, New Beginnings!

Good morning everyone, long time not posted, but here I am  back again. I have made a few cards in the summer, or finished some off that I started earlier and this is one of them. Background is Pan Pastels and a Splodgeaway mask, sentiment LOTV, sunflowers from my stash. I intended to post this earlier this morning, but guess what, the school bus didn't turn up, and i had to throw some clothes on and dash with 3 of my grandchildren. Just as I was thinking about breakfast and planning my relaxing day!
I have not been sat at home doing nothing since my last post, well not quite! I have been project managing my back garden transformation. This has involved me watching others work hard, while I sat in the sun and shade alternately! This is  a before picture, garden furniture shoved to the side, elderberry root more central and sacks of bonfire waste in the corner, and oh of course all the weeds, mainly dock, interspersed with a little grass.

More of the same with my daughter doing some of the work.

My daughter's fella, the main worker, he has already started to dig out ready to put some drainage channels in. Well that is it for today, I will post some more tomorrow. Have a good day, I am going to play in the garden. Take care.

Return of the Prodigal!

Good morning all, this is the third time I have attempted to post this blog and it could quite possible be afternoon by the time it appears! Can I start by saying a great big THANK YOU! to all of you bloggers who supported me during my silent period. It was due to a combination of things: a tired laptop, my brother who needed daily transport to the hospital for radiotherapy treatment, dental appointments for split root removal and just life in general.  Anyway your support meant and still does mean a great deal to me. I did manage to follow you all, albeit slowly thanks to laptop, who I hope is fully recovered and sorted now, and did manage to make the odd comment. I even got a new follower during this period, so another thank you to Karen, I will be popping round to see you soon. I did do some card making to order during this period, but they were made and handed on and I  forgot to take photos each time, duh!  I did some work in the garden too, only general tidying and weeding, but at least my faithful perennials are in flower. It is a drizzly day with the odd downpour today so I might get crafting again, once my Asda delivery comes. Today's card is Dawn Bibby background paper's, Kanban blank topper, LOTV stamp, Promarkers, Spellbinder die, Pan Pastels, and gems from stash.  Well that's it from me for today folks, look after yourselves.

Morning all, blue skies a while ago but cloudy now. No pics today as I have lost my mojo, but also my laptop is playing up. It has gone so slow, even the word processing is like tramping through treacle with your wellies on the wrong feet. It is taking forever to load any blogs and then to wait for comment boxes, so I am giving up for today and going to the butchers. Hope you all well, keep warm, your bogged down blogging friend.

Good sunny cold morning to you all. Yes it's Wednesday so here is the mess of my desk, I am mid UIU mode, so I have piles of toppers from a Kanban card kit that I am using up to add to my charity shop pile, and of course my Easter egg, which I can't touch until I have tidied up! In case you are wondering what this is all about get yourself over to Julia Dunnit  h I have to tidy up because that white pot that usually contains all the backings off foam pads and tiny bits from die cuts- yes well I knocked it on the floor and while I scooped loads up there are still loads which are starting to be walked about, so no choice. Keep warm.

Flowers for the sun

Brrrrh! Good sunny but cold Good Friday morning to you all. I couldn't believe how bright the sun was when I got up at 8 this morning. There is one drawback though, it has highlighted a load of cobwebs and dusty bits, I am sure they weren't there yesterday, will have to attack them after I have been fortified with a toasted hot cross bun for breakfast!  Today's card was made in one of my UIU bursts. The card is Kanban, background DI, stamp from stash-coloured with Promarkers, some Dawn Bibby glaze of some kind, sentiment Andy Skinner-I think, done with Versamark and liquid pearls. The sun has gone behind a cloud now and some of the dustbits have disappeared, so I won't have to have my eyes tested yet. I have put the last two photo album photos on today. Breakfast, dust attack, play before church at 3. Enjoy your Good Friday, keep warm.

Happy Christmas

Good overcast morning to you all. We had sunshine and patches of blue when I surfaced at 8 o'clock, but all that has gone now, but no white stuff about so far! I have just had a delicious bacon butty that my grandson Nat made for me, even though he did set the smoke alarm off. I have finished my ironing and after I have posted this blog I will vacuum the hall and stairs, that should be it for today. I thought I would post another Christmas card today because of the inclement weather we have been having, hope I am not pushing my luck. The background papers are out of the bit box, they are Kanban, as is the stamp, coloured with Promarkers, and a bit of glitter. Spellbinder Die, peel off and star from stash, border tape from Lakeland when they did craft stuff, how long ago is that? Keep warm.

Wednesday, 27 March 2013

Good late morning to you all. I know now it's Wednesday, but I did forget, well it is the Easter Holidays, and I had a lie in until 9-30! Well I have finished my ironing and better get this mess explained. If you are wondering why I am showing you this get yourself over to Julia Dunnit a  and all will be explained, you can join in too, but be warned, it is addictive. So back to the desk, the tub of bits, scissors, card I posted yesterday, some Kanban toppers, a red bag containing.... hair products not craft products. They are dumped there because I have started a bit- bit being the operative word, of spring cleaning, and just dumped it there for the time being. Well I think that is it for today, I am going for a toot around the world. Keep warm-it is still trying to snow here but not very successfully!

Die cuts

Good  snowy lunchtime to you all. I am late today, just been faffing about doing nothing really, apart from dropping Nat of at the train station, he is going into Manchester with his friend. I made today's card in a selection of cards for a friends grand-daughter's birthday. I am entering it intothe Charisma Cardz Challenge-Die-cuts. Background paper-Dawn Bibby, Blank topper Kanban, LOTV  stamp coloured with Promarkers and a dusting of Pan Pastels, Spellbinder Die and the little swirl might be CheeryLyn, stars from stash. That's it folks, the snow has been drifting about all morning, now I can see blue skies. Keep warm.
